Why this build?

Choice of CPU
We think the AMD Athlon II X3
Triple Core cpus trump the Intel
Pentium Dual Core cpus. They're
about the same price! Three
cores beats two cores all day long
for multi tasking and multi
threaded applications. Also the
2.7GHz clock speed is great for a
mainstream PC.

Integrated Graphics
The AMD 785G chipset is a
superior choice for integrated
graphics on the motherboard. If
we had gone with an Intel cpu we
would have had been limited to
the Intel G45 Express chipset
with its not as great integrated
graphics. The other chipset
choice  with an Intel cpu would
be the NVIDIA 9300/9400
chipsets. These chipsets are
comparable to the AMD 785G,
however their motherboards are
a lot more expensive.

Upgradeable
Its nice to know you can just
drop in the fastest AMD Phenom
II X4 cpu in the future when
prices drop. Not so with an Intel
platform that use different
motherboard sockets for their
fastest chips. Add a video card ,
more drives or memory whenever
you need!

Great Connectors
This PC can even be used as a
Home Theatre PC (HTPC)
connected to your TV and
receiver with its HDMI and S/PDIF
optical output jacks!
